We hadn't been in a couple years so I told the kids we could go this summer. What a great day we had! We went on a Monday which I was told is the slowest day of the week. The forecast was cloudy with off and on thunderstorms so I was a little hesitant in going at first. I went online to read their weather policy which said if they had to close we'd get a raincheck. I was like, hey what do we have to lose, let's go. I was glad though that the skies ended up being clear and the weather perfect.
Parking is free, it can be a walk if you're not there early but there is preferred parking right up near the gate which is $10. We packed our cooler full of snacks, lunches and drinks and went for a day of fun!
The waterslides are plenty to choose from! You have your traditional slides and then you have some for the daredevils like the blue one, called the Geronimo! Straight down; takes my breath away just watching the kids!
If you'd like some professional photos taken, you can go to the Kodak cabin or ask any of the employees wearing the SMILE shirts to take some photos for you and later head back to view them for purchase. There were also some coupons found on Water Country's Facebook Page for the Kodak purchases.
The park is pretty big but I was able to station myself pretty much in the center of it by the pool and lounge while the kids used the buddy system for the slides around me. It was great being able to relax a bit myself.
On one side of the park is the lazy river and the wave pool! FUN!!!!
There are plenty of good food places to grab your lunch, snacks or drinks. You can also pack your lunch which is a life saver for our family! Not that many places allow you to do this, so thumbs up to Water Country for looking out for our families. I like to pack our lunch and then treat the kids to an ice cream or fried dough.
I know I'm showing you a lot of thrill rides for the older kids, but no worries, there are a lot of great sections for the younger children as well! Hours and hours of fun from this great set up shown and other small waterslides and wade pools! When Camden was younger this is where we hung out for the entire day and I remember when it was time to leave the crocodile tears came pouring out!
The kids all enjoyed their new ride in the dark with glimpses of sharks on this two person ride.
If you forget anything, they have a store to shop in too and the prices were not crazy outrageous. Obviously, you hope not to forget anything but if you do, you can grab it there. Cute t-shirts, like the shark one I have at the beginning of this post and more souvenirs can be purchased as well.
For a big family like ours it's definitely something you have to save up for but it was a great, fun, special, perfect day! We had a few things we had planned for day trips, Water Country being one of them. Their passes have decreased in price and they always have coupons available. You can check it out with the links I've provided.
If you have any questions while you're there, the staff is more than willing to help you. While I was waiting at the window a father and son were asking about places to stay nearby. One of the staff, found him several brochures along with computer printed places and phone numbers. How nice to give that extra time. That's what makes a good business run well: great staffing! Thanks Water Country for our fun day. The kids are already asking for season passes as their Christmas present. (Maybe a special deal? Hint Hint!)
OMG those water slides made my tummy turn! lol
ReplyDeleteI'm not brave enough for them, but I bet I would have a blast in the wave pool, or the food court LOL
Oh my gosh, that looks like SOOOOO much fun!! I LOVE the wave pool!
